Embedded World 2023 – TOFU Goes International
Embedded World 2023 was a milestone for Oratek. Our first international trade show. The first time we brought the TOFU board to a global stage and put it in front of engineers, customers, journalists, and content creators from around the world.
A Product That Had Already Found Its Audience
By the time we arrived in Nuremberg, TOFU was not an unknown. A significant number of units had already been shipped, and the community around the board had been growing steadily. Embedded World 2023 was the opportunity to finally meet that audience in person — to put faces to orders, to have the conversations that don’t happen over email.
Customers who had been using TOFU in their projects came by the booth. So did engineers evaluating it for new ones. The feedback was direct, technical, and exactly the kind of reality check a young product needs.
Challenging TOFU Against the Real World
One of the most valuable aspects of that first edition was the confrontation with the broader embedded ecosystem. Embedded World brings together the full spectrum of the industry — from component suppliers to system integrators, from startups to established players. Presenting TOFU in that environment meant measuring it against real standards, real expectations, and real competition.
The discussions were deep and encouraging. The questions asked confirmed that the problems TOFU was designed to solve — compact form factor, production-ready reliability, Swiss design rigour — were the right ones to be solving.
Journalists, YouTubers, and the Embedded Community
Beyond customers and engineers, the 2023 edition brought a different kind of visibility. Journalists and content creators covering the embedded world stopped by, engaged with the product, and helped bring the TOFU story to a wider audience. For a Swiss company stepping onto the international scene for the first time, that exposure was significant.
A Great Time With Customers and Partners
Embedded World 2023 was also, simply, a great experience. Meeting the people who had trusted the product early, sharing what was coming next, and being part of the global embedded community for the first time — it set the tone for everything that followed.
