EPHJ 2021 – Our First Time at EPHJ
EPHJ 2021 was a milestone on multiple levels. It was Oratek’s first participation at EPHJ — and it happened in a context that made it all the more significant: the first major fair after the COVID shutdown. The industry was returning. The energy on the floor was palpable.
Introducing TOFU to the Watchmaking World
EPHJ was the right place to introduce the TOFU board to a Swiss industrial audience. Designed for engineering and all kinds of embedded applications — from edge computing and machine learning to 5G, LoRa, SatCom and NVMe storage — TOFU had a story to tell, and EPHJ gave us the stage to tell it.
The interest exceeded expectations. Requests came from every direction — product development teams looking for a compact embedded platform, companies seeking engineering consulting, and individuals exploring what TOFU could enable in their specific context. The breadth of that interest confirmed that the platform had relevance well beyond any single industry.
A Booth Designed to Make an Impression
The scenography and booth design were created by Studio Raphaël Lutz. A sharp black environment, a large-format TOFU poster showcasing the full colour range of the board, and a detailed feature diagram laying out everything the platform could do — edge computing, machine learning, SSD, 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, LoRa, SatCom, industrial-grade enclosures, Swiss made. The booth communicated the product’s depth clearly and confidently.
The First of Many
That first EPHJ participation set the tone for everything that followed. It established Oratek’s presence in the Swiss industrial and watchmaking ecosystem, opened conversations that continued for months, and confirmed that a Swiss-made embedded platform — compact, versatile, production-ready — had a real place in this market.
